Mariah Boats is a manufacturer of high end pleasure boats. They use CNC cutters to cut stacked plywood, plexiglass, Starboard (high density plastic) and other materials. Joyce Frames is a furniture frame manufacturer. They use mostly 3/4" and 1" plywood. The business was started in 1972 and has grown from 2500 sq. ft. to 150,000 sq. ft. with 150 employees. In order for Joyce to keep up with frame production growth the company has, over the years, invested heavily in numerous pieces of woodworking equipment. The majority of the work was being produced on 15 band saws, 2 panel saws and 3 boring machines. Wayne explained, "We were running into a lot of bottlenecks in our plant because of the bandsaws. With our work load, we were also running into a lot of overtime." Wayne needed a solution to his problems to ensure future growth.
